Tony Elumelu, chairman of United Bank for Africa, UBA, Plc, will address global industrialists at the White House, Washington, United States, US, to celebrate emerging entrepreneurs around the globe, said a statement issued by Tony Elemelu Foundation.
Barack Obama, US President, would be hosting the event, as a prelude to his scheduled trip to Kenya in the summer for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. Elumelu, one of Africa’s business leaders, the statement said, has been identified a promoter of global entrepreneurs. His Foundation recently inaugurated 100 million dollars Entrepreneurship Programme, aimed at growing 10,000 start-up companies across Africa over a decade.
The foundation said that the White House entrepreneurship celebration would bring established and emerging entrepreneurs across the world together to seek the support and commitment of investors, governments, private foundations and individuals.
Speakers expected to join Obama and Eleumelu at the event, include Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and Barbara Corcoran, founder of Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners. Others are Daymond John, chief executive officer and founder of FUBU, Antonio Gracias, founder of Valor Equity Partners and Julie Hanna, founder of Kiva.
