Sterling Bank Plc, as part of its “Enriching Lives” initiatives and in fulfilment of its promise to make the 2015 Children’s Day most memorable, recently donated two sets of the books, ‘Funds and My Little Money Book’ to the Lagos State government. The books are to be distributed to pupils and students of public schools in the state. Published first in 2014 and distributed to some schools in Nigeria during the Financial Literacy Week, Sterling Bank published a revised version this year and distributed them during the Financial Literacy Week. The bank used its team of volunteer staff to teach in selected schools in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
This came just as the bank announced its sponsorship of the Nigerian Bar Association’s conference on Business Law, NBA-SBL. The conference, themed ‘Regulators as Catalysts for Economic Growth,’ is billed to hold between June 7 and 9, 2015 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
Shina Atilola, the bank’s group head, Strategy and Communications, explained that the bank sponsored the NBA-SBL conference in line with its strategic focus on value adding events especially those focused on education and learning. “The NBA-SL conference remains a convergent point for policy formulators, regulators, corporate bodies, legal practitioners, emerging market investors and other stakeholders. We believe it is important to support these key categories as it helps to enhance economic development,” Atilola said.
