Remodeled Makurdi Airport To Be Completed Soon

The remodeled Makurdi Airport, designed to be the biggest perishable cargo terminal in the country, will soon be completed. Samuel Ortom, supervising minister of aviation, made this revelation during his inspection tour of the airport May 19.

Ortom also said that the ongoing construction of perishable terminals across the country would be facilitated as soon as funds are released from the 2014 budget, adding that projects under the Airport Master Plan, initiated by President Goodluck Jonathan for the aviation industry, were still on course and would be implemented as scheduled by the immediate past Aviation Minister.

The supervising minister was joined at the airport by U. A Omeiza, Air Vice Marshal and Air Officer Commanding, AOC, Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force, where issues of mutual interest were discussed in view of the status of Makurdi Airport as a military airport.

The supervising minister, who was accompanied on the tour by Capt Alkali, a director in the Ministry of Aviation and Saleh Dunoma, managing director of FAAN, was earlier told by Saleh that work on the remodeling of the Makurdi Airport terminal had reached 90 per cent completion.
