Optima Sports Management International Ready for Brazil 2014

For Nigerian football fans, there will be no dull moment throughout the forthcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. This is because Optima Sports Management International, OSMI, owners of the broadcast rights for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Nigeria, have vowed to give both potential advertisers and sponsors maximum return on their investments.

Rotimi Pedro, chief executive officer, OSMI, explained that the firm signed a transmission agreement recently with Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria, BON, an umbrella body of radio and television stations in Nigeria, to deliver the promised commercial value by reaching the target market across the country free of charge.

Pedro added that the collaboration with BON would not only benefit sport-loving Nigerians, but also provide a window of commercial opportunity for corporate organisations to reach their target market. “Our vision as a company is to make premium sports programmes available to the majority of Nigerians, without them paying for it. The forthcoming World Cup in Brazil will not be an exception. It doesn’t matter where an average Nigerian resides, we plan to make the World Cup matches available to him,” he said.

He explained that brand messages of corporate organisations on products and services would be connected to the transmission across the country. “That’s why we are working with BON on this project. Through their network of stations, OSMI plans to reach about 32 million television households in Nigeria and extend the World Cup experience farther into the rural centres through radio transmission,” Pedro explained.
