The federal government has commissioned the design of $5 billion Trans-Nigeria gas pipeline, which it hopes to deliver gas to northern and eastern parts of the country upon completion. This was revealed in the volume 48 of the bulletin of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, recently released. The bulletin stated that David Ige, group executive director, gas and power of the NNPC announced it when he spoke in Abuja.
It stated that the state of security in some parts of the nation had never constituted a serious threat to the project. It stated that the project would be completed before the end of the year in order to double its capacity.
