A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ojigwe have jointly won One Million Naira in the special holiday draw of the Sterling Bank Cash Reward Promo, a new proposition from the Bank. The elated couple who run a joint account with the bank received the prize money at a ceremony held at the corporate headquarters of the Bank at the weekend. Similarly, Adams Joshua Terna who won the prize of N500, 000 in the quarterly draw also received his prize money at the event. It would be recalled that the bank two weeks ago rewarded 40 customers selected via an electronic raffle draw. The New Sterling Plus is a hybrid offering with the promise of many goodies and freebies such as free Lenovo smart phones pre-installed with Sterling Mobile banking application and loaded with ‘cool’ financial and entertainment apps and cash rewards amongst others for customers. The promo started in June this year and is aimed at rewarding customer loyalty and encouraging a savings culture among Nigerians. Abubakar Suleiman, the bank’s executive director, Finance & Strategy, congratulated the winners and assured that, “Sterling Bank will continue to demonstrate its commitment to building an enduring relationship with its customers and in the process enrich their lives.” He explained that the presentation of the prize money was in fulfillment of the Bank’s promise to reward customer loyalty and encourage a savings culture among Nigerians. Suleiman who called on more Nigerians to embrace the product described the New Sterling Plus as the perfect solution for individuals interested in enjoying the benefits of both current and savings account offerings, without the associated costs of running a current account. While thanking the Bank on behalf of other winners, Ojigwe commended the Bank for fulfilling its promise. He also recalled how he received the news: “I just came back from an outing with my father when a call came through. When l picked the call, the caller introduced himself and told me I have won one million Naira (N1, 000, 000) in Sterling Bank’s Cash Reward Promo. I just said thank you because l never believed it. I later called my wife to inform her and to call back the number. She did and she told me it actually came from Sterling Bank. The third day, l went to my branch where I was informed to fill a form. It was at that point that l actually believed it and here we are. We are One million Naira richer.” For Terna, winning N500, 000 in a promo came like a dream. “This is the first time I am winning anything in a promo. This came to me as a big surprise but I am happy about it. Sterling Bank has demonstrated transparency in the way they have handled the entire process.” The promo will also see customers of the New Sterling Plus entitled to a free Lenovo mobile smart phone, free cheque books, free debit cards and free alerts (SMS and e-mails) on their transactions upon fulfillment of the necessary conditions. 20 people are to win N50, 000 each every week for a period of one year while 10 people would win N100, 000 monthly. Two people would win N500, 000 quarterly and one lucky individual will win N1 million on special holidays (as declared by the Federal Government).
