Contractors working at the Benin Airport have been called upon to adhere strictly to specification and high standards in the on-going rehabilitation of the Benin Runway. Yakubu Dati, general manager, Corporate Affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said Saleh Dunoma, managing director/chief executive officer of FAAN, made the call, while conducting an inspection tour of the project, to determine the standards of work being done and the pace of work, in order to deliver the project on the estimated date of completion.
Dunoma appealed to travellers and other users of the airport facility to bear with the inconveniences caused by the closure of the airport, stressing that safety will continue to be its major anchor. Dunoma, who was accompanied by Henry Omeogu, director of Airport Operations of the Authority, commended McZoll Resources, the contractors handling the project, for the level of work done so far, but advised on the need to speed up the work in order to meet up with the estimated deadline.
Dunoma also interacted with members of staff and charged them to deliver on the Auhority’s mandate of safety, security, efficiency and passenger comfort.
