Saleh Dunoma, managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has inaugurated a committee to review the Authority’s Servicom integrated charter. The review is said to be an attempt to improve service delivery and also aimed at enhancing customer satisfaction. The review tallies with the Aviation Commits Initiative recently launched by Osita Chidoka, aviation minister, to improve repackage, rebrand and redirect the Aviation Industry in Nigeria through effective service delivery.
While presenting his address, Dunoma extolled the minister’s consistency in promoting customer service in the aviation sector. He noted that the minister launched the Aviation Portal Service and Aviation Helpline in order to ensure quality service delivery adding that this is a single platform where passengers can access real time information about airline operations and services at the Nigerian airports.
Dunoma, who was represented by Femi Ogunode, FAAN’s director of Maintenance and Engineering, further explained that the review of the FAAN SERVICOM Charter is intended to display the promises upon which customers can demand their rights to good service; have recourse when service delivery fails and actively be involved in the service delivery programme.
Ebele Okoye, general manager SERVICOM, who is the head of the committee, emphasised the importance of the committee. He urged the committee members to be committed to their task, which includes providing the framework of service delivery for customers, their rights and obligations.
