President Muhammadu Buhari will soon be on the move again, this time heading to the first forum of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, CWEIC, holding alongside the meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government, CHOGM, in Malta with a strong delegation, come November. The CWEIC meeting is mandated to promote trade and investment among Commonwealth countries.
This year’s CWEIC meeting, features a business forum, which will offer opportunities for Commonwealth members to exchange and project their businesses. The heads of government, 1, 200 business leaders and ministers from across the Commonwealth countries, will attend this event. “The forum convenes Heads of Government, senior ministers, government delegates and the private sector in one place to discuss business opportunities and policy making,” said Abdul Quadir Hamza, head of business development of the CWEIC.
Joseph Ambakederimo, CEO, Puffa Nigeria Limited, organisers of the meeting, urged the Nigerian businessmen to take opportunity of the forum to project themselves in the light of the unhindered opportunities being given to entrepreneurs by the Buhari administration. “The fight against corruption launched by the Muhammadu Buhari administration offers a special opportunity to all kinds of business persons to compete favourably among their local peers and international competitors, and the Commonwealth Business Forum offers all those who had been so marginalised in the past to project themselves,” he said.
